Why Are Flowers Important to A Woman?

Guys, have you ever wondered why flowers are so well received by a woman? I sure have. It always seemed to me, from my masculine point of view, that they were simply a waste of money. They are so expensive and only look and smell good for a few days, at best. And then they turn ugly and are gone.

Why not buy something for your wife that's more practical? Like a potted plant that will go on and on. Or silk flowers that will not wilt and fade?

Then I discovered that the female brain works differently than the male brain and I began to understand why these more "practical gifts" are just not seen as being quite so romantic as flowers are to a woman.

You see, a potted plant, while still a nice gift, represents work for a woman. She has to water and take care of it. And silk flowers don't smell well, and eventually they become dust catchers.

I found out that real flowers for most women are seen as romantic gestures precisely because they are such a frivolous and expensive gift. When a man spends money on something that will not last, simply because he knows that his wife will love it -- this speaks volumes to her. It shows her that he is romantic and that he really loves her.

That's why having real flowers for your Maui vow renewal are so important. I've performed many weddings and vow renewals where the couple "saved money" a brought their own silk bouquet or silk leis. Let me tell you, those fake bouquets and leis are just not the same. The brides treat them completely different and they contain less emotional meaning. So if you are planning a Maui vow renewal, check out our Flowers page.
