There are certainly many different venues to have a vow renewal. But obviously, sometimes couples decide that they want to do something "really special" to commemorate their union together. And when you're going of a vacation during your anniversary (or even just want to remember it while they are on vacation), what better place to do it than on a beach at sunset?
Now of course, you don't want to go to a crowded beach. Nor do you want to go to a beach that is not beautiful. I doubt that you would want to visit a beach that is dirty or ugly. And you probably won't want to go in the heat of the day (unless you are going to a rather cold climate area). Probably the best times of the day for a vow renewal on a beach would be in the early morning (at sunrise) or later in the afternoon when you can get a sunset.
Of course, not all beaches offer the opportunity of either a sunrise or a sunset depending on whether they face into the west or east. But having done vow renewals both in the early morning and at sunset I can tell you that it is much easier to do a sunset ceremony than it is to do one in the morning. For one thing sunsets just seem to last longer than sun risings. Plus you have to get up pretty early to be on the beach when the sun is rising (so it takes a lot more effort to get a minister and/or a photographer to come to your renewal in the morning.
Whichever you choose you can go wrong coming to Hawaii where the beaches are on the whole incredible. And one of the best companies on Maui for doing vow renewals is Maui Vow Renewal. Be sure and take a look at some of their favorite Maui beaches where they do weddings. They are awesome. I'm sure you'll want to take a look at their vow renewal packages page which will give you a great idea of their inexpensive prices.
